About

This course is a conversational no-techincal version of our foundational course "The Mind: In the Light of Modern and Spiritual Sciences". What is the mind? It is the inner space you have never once left. Every thought, feeling, and decision that has shaped your life has arisen within it, yet most of us, when asked simply what it is, have surprisingly little to say. This course begins where that uncertainty ends. For thousands of years, the contemplative sciences of Yoga and Vedanta, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and Kashmir Shaivism, have mapped the mind from the inside. Modern neuroscience, physics, and systems theory have approached the same questions from the outside. This course brings both into genuine dialogue, not as rivals but as complements converging on one reality from opposite directions. Where they meet, a precision becomes possible that neither could achieve alone. The bridge between them is the science of signals and systems: how information is carried, filtered, distorted, and clarified as it moves through any system. Ideas like resonance, interference, and coherence turn out to illuminate perception, memory, attention, and identity in ways the contemplative traditions have always taught. No background in science or scripture is needed. Every technical idea is introduced through direct experience before it is named, and every Sanskrit term is explained in plain language. To make the journey welcoming, the lessons unfold as a warm conversation between the author and three fellow learners: a parent, a teacher, and a young person, each bringing the questions you may be asking yourself. Across five modules, you will move from "What is the mind?" to a living understanding of how it forms, filters, and flourishes, and how clarity about the mind becomes the very ground of wellbeing and resilient mental health. This is, in the end, a study of yourself. Welcome to the course.
