At Vedanta Retreat Centre, we invite you to explore the art of Indian cooking through our hands-on workshops, where you can learn the intricacies of spices and authentic cooking techniques. Perfect for those eager to enhance their culinary skills and create delightful dishes for their families, our sessions provide valuable insights into the rich culinary heritage of India. Join us in fostering community ties while discovering the joys of cooking! Saturday, 27th September 2025 from 10 am to 2pm Venue: 166 Waikaretu Valley Road, Glen Murray, Waikato Tentative Workshop Outline: 10.00 - 10.30: Free class in meditation (optional) 10.30 - 11.00: A presentation on common spices and their uses. 11.00 - 11.30: Demonstration 11.30 - 12.30: Each participant cooks their own dish under personal supervision 12.30 - 1.30: Share the lunch around 1.30 - 2.00: Feedback and disperse A starter pack of essential spices can be ordered at the time of booking. What participants need to bring: A cooking pot, paddle, kitchen knife, cutting board etc A portable stove Vegetables (any non-vegetarian dish you would like to cook on the day). Any other utensils etc you may need.
