Sri Ramakrishna’s Practice and Realisation of Christianity:
A Brief Overview
Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the 19th-century mystic of Bengal, practiced various religious paths to affirm the truth that all genuine spiritual traditions ultimately lead to the same divine Reality. Among these, his practice of Christianity stands as a powerful testimony to the universality of his spiritual quest.
Practice and Realisation:
In the latter part of his life at Dakshineswar, Ramakrishna came across a picture of the Madonna and Child at the garden house of Jatindra Nath Banerjee. He was deeply moved by its purity and tenderness. Around this time, he also came into contact with Christian teachings and began meditating on Jesus with sincere devotion, just as he had done in his earlier sadhanas of Tantra, Vaishnavism, and Islam.
